Chef Naomi Everett
Chef Naomi
Everett was born and raised in Alaska and is a 2000
graduate of the University of Alaska, Anchorage
Culinary Arts program. She has worked in New Orleans
at Bayona, for Chef Susan Spicer, in New Mexico at
Kokopelli’s Restaurant, and traveled abroad in
pursuit of a diverse culinary education. After
traveling for a few years, Naomi came home to Alaska
and worked as the Executive Chef for The Marx Bros.
Café at the museum. There she refined her skills in
fine dining catering and restaurant management.
In 2004
Naomi took on the challenge of bringing fine dining
to the valley and headed up the team at Settlers Bay
Lodge in Wasilla, Alaska.
In the
fall of 2006 a phone call came that her culinary
mentor had become ill and needed her to take over
teaching culinary arts classes at the University of
Alaska. She jumped at the opportunity and was hired
as a full time instructor this year.
Naomi
loves the excitement of bringing new taste
experiences to her guests and encouraging creative
freedom in aspiring chefs. She won the Great Alaska
Seafood Cookoff in 2006 and placed in the top six at
The Great American Seafood Cookoff in New Orleans
where she was one of the featured chefs for the Food
Network. |
